If your opponent has his feet planted in parallel when attempting to break open your Closed Guard from standing, he has no base behind him and easily can be made imbalanced if you shove him backwards. Release your ankles as you grab onto both of his heels and lift your hips up into his to sweep him back. If he posts his hand out to prevent you from coming up on top, grab onto his sleeve and yank his arm out of the way to ride over into the Mount.
